The Glisenti Model 1910 was a 9 mm caliber semi-automatic service pistol produced by the Italian company Società Siderurgica Glisenti.[1] It was put in production in 1910 to replace the aging Bodeo Model 1889. It saw extensive service in World War I and World War II with the Royal Italian Army

1. Introduction

Welcome to Matthews Auctioneers' online bidding platform. Below are the terms and conditions that apply to all transactions for this auction. By using this site, you agree that: (1) You have read and agreed to the terms & conditions, (2) You understand these terms & conditions, and; (3) You are bound by these terms & conditions in the use of this site. Terms & conditions anywhere else on the site constitute an agreement between Matthews Auctioneers and the user. Therefore, these terms & conditions can only be changed or waived by an authorized agent of Matthews Auctioneers. 

2. Use of the Site

2.1 Registration: To register and place bids on this site, you must complete the following; (1) provide, among other things, your name, phone number, email address, and a valid credit/debit card. By registering on this site, you agree to be added to our text & email notification list automatically. You may unsubscribe from this list at any time by following the instructions in the message. 

2.2 Exclusion of Users & the rejection of bids: Matthews Auctioneers reserves the right to accept or reject a bidder from its site for any reason, including the following reasons; (1) Violation of any of the terms & conditions; (2) Suspected fraudulent activity.

2.3 Placing A Bid: By placing a bid in an auction, you are making an irrevocable offer to purchase that item at a price set forth. ONCE A BID IS PLACED, IT CAN NOT BE RETRACTED FOR ANY REASON.

2.4 Item Inspection & Condition: All item conditions stated are simply the opinions of Matthews Auctioneers & its agents and are meant to be a reference, not a stated fact. All items will be available for inspection prior to the auction. Please see the Preview times listed on the site. Matthews Auctioneers highly recommends that you inspect the item in person before bidding. By placing a bid on an item, you agree that you have inspected the item and understand its condition of the item. Failure to inspect before bidding shall not be the fault of Matthews Auctioneers. Items may have undeclared or unknown defects.

2.5 Prebidding: Pre-bidding will be available within 21 days of the auction's start. 

2.6 Extended Bidding: The auctioneer has the sole discretion to extend or reopen the bidding. 

2.7 Winning Bid: The user who submitted the highest bid will complete the item purchase following the terms & conditions. The user's credit card will be charged for the full amount of the invoice unless other arrangments have been made. The only exclusion will be for items sold with a reserve, which shall be disclosed in the item details. All invoices must be paid within 24 hours of the auction's close. Any items not paid within 24 hours of the auction close will be resold, and the bidder will be banned from bidding on future auctions and may be subject to legal action.

2.8 Item Removal & Shipping: All items will be located at 101 Meadow St in Galax VA. Shipping may be requested at buyers expense. Guns may only be shipped to a Federal firearms licensee. The buyer will be responsible for any transfer fee charged by the FFL.  See Gun terms below for more info. 

2.9 Buyer's Premium & Sales Tax - 5.3% VA Sales Tax will be added to each invoice. A Buyers' premium of 13.5% will be charged on all purchases. 

3. Other Terms & Auctioneer Notes

 3.1 Staff of Matthews Auctioneers and their families are permitted to bid on all auctions but must follow all terms & conditions of the sale. 

3.2 Tie Bids:  In the event 2 bids are placed for the same amount on the same item. The high bidder will be determined automatically by whoever placed the bid first. Matthews Auctioneers will not reopen the bidding for that item. 

All items must be picked up onsite at Virginia tech surplus. Pickup times are Saturday, Monday, Tuesday from 8-4PM. LATE FEES of $5 PER DAY and PER ITEM will be charged for any items not picked up by the end of the day on the Tuesday following the auction. Any items not picked up by the end of the business week following the auction will e considered abandoned and ownership will revert back to Virginia Tech. Virginia Tech or Matthews Auctioneers does not provide any shipping services and does not prepare items for shipment. All items must be picked up at Virginia Tech Surplus

3. Terms for Gun Purchases

Matthews Auctioneers is a licensed gun dealer in the state of Virginia. All state and federal rules apply to all sales. These are the basic requirements to purchase a gun in Virginia:

  1. Buyer must be 21 years of age or older.
  2. Have a valid photo ID that was not issued in the last 30 days. If the buyer is not a resident of VA, then a second form of government-issued ID is required that matches the address on the ID (vehicle registration, conceal carry permit, voter ID, etc)
  3. Pass a federal background check.
  4. VA law allows for only 1 handgun purchase every 30 days unless the buyer has a VA conceal carry permit or receives a waiver from the state. 
  5. Non-Virginia residents can buy handguns, but they must be transferred to an FFL in their state to complete the paperwork.
  6. Background checks for long guns can be completed onsite for out-of-state buyers.
  7. If the buyer wants a gun transferred to another FFL, they shall be responsible for any charges associated with the transfer. Matthews Auctioneers only charges the actual cost of the shipping but the FFL doing the transfer may have other fees.

Background checks must be completed on all guns. We will have staff available to complete paperwork until 11 pm the night of the auction and then from 9-4 Pm on Saturday, Feb. 11. Appointments must be made for Saturday.
